About Joan Runnheim Olson, M.S.

Joan Runnheim Olson has a passion for empowering emerging and newly appointed leaders to turn their career vision into reality. She instills confidence, offers support and encourages out-of-the-box thinking.  Like a flame that ignites a candle, Joan is a catalyst for change. Her broad knowledge and expertise, numerous credentials, positive energy, supportive nature and wise counsel have helped many clients discover the key that will unlock the door to their goals and dreams. She also provides the career tools to help them harness their leadership potential.

Background

 

Joan’s experience is shaped by more than a decade of experience as a leadership and career coach, provider of an employee assistance program for over eight years, provider of outplacement services, and as a Monster.com career expert for seven-plus years. At Monster.com, she served as an expert for the “Managing and Leading Others” message board as well as the “Networking Tips” message board.

 

As president of Pathways Career Success Strategies, LLC, Joan works with professionals, managers and executives; small to mid-size businesses; and non-profit organizations. She conducts coaching sessions with leaders and professionals’ in-person or via phone. In addition, she is certified to conduct the MBTI assessment, the Work Behavior Inventory assessment, and the Multi-dimensional Leadership Profile (360) assessment. As a keynote presenter and workshop trainer, Joan delivers engaging presentations nationwide for groups up to 250 on topics including leadership, career, and nontraditional careers for women and men.

 

Joan also works with professionals, managers and executives who are struggling to find a new career or job, or advance in their career.  Her dynamic style, caring attitude, and warm demeanor not only enables clients to open up and see what is possible, but also helps them set a plan of action, manage it from day to day, and keep accountable and on track with their goals.

Education

 

Joan earned a Master of Science degree in Vocational Rehabilitation with a concentration in Vocational Evaluation from University of Wisconsin-Stout, Menominee, WI. She also received a Bachelor of Science in Sociology/Criminal Justice from Mount Senario College in Ladysmith, WI.
